January 2026
Step into 2026 in communion with the Living Bread
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
— John 6:51 As we move into 2026, Jesus reminds us that He has already prepared what we truly need.
He is the living bread — not just nourishment for a moment, but life for eternity. In a year that will bring its own challenges, opportunities, and unknowns, Christ does not offer quick fixes or temporary strength. He offers Himself. His body, given for the life of the world, becomes our source of rest, hope, and lasting life.To “eat this bread” in 2026 is to live daily from His life within us — to trust His sufficiency, to receive His love, and to allow that life to flow through us to others.

As this new year unfolds, may we return again and again to the table He has set, finding in Jesus everything we need to live, love, and endure.

John 11:32 Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

We observe Mary’s great love and reverence for Jesus as she fell at His feet. It’s interesting to me that Martha didn’t fall at Jesus’ feet when she came to Him. At least, it’s not reported. There’s an attitude of surrender and humility that convicts me. Not many people respond to God this way when going through difficulties. That’s what makes me think that Mary isn’t blaming Jesus when she says what she says.

Obviously Martha and Mary were both of the opinion that if Jesus had been there, Lazarus would still be alive. But they aren’t blaming Him. They can’t see anything but their loss, but in their loss, they still have confidence in Jesus. In her pain and loss, she presented herself humbly to the Lord Jesus. May we also walk in such humility and love.
